Questions about permits

What is an NIE number and do I need one?
An NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero) is a Spanish identification number for foreigners. You need it for almost everything: buying property, applying for permits, paying taxes and opening a bank account. We handle your NIE application completely.
How long does a permit application take?
This varies by municipality. A licencia de obra mayor (major works) takes 3 to 6 months. Smaller permits (obra menor) are sorted within 2 to 4 weeks. We know local procedures and speed up the process where possible.
What permits are needed for renovations?
That depends on the scope. Small changes (painting, replacing floors) sometimes only require a notification to the municipality. Larger works (load-bearing walls, extensions) require a full building permit. We determine exactly what you need.
Do you handle everything or do I need to do anything?
We handle the entire permit process: from NIE application to building permit. All you need to do is sign documents, and even that can be done via power of attorney if you're not in Spain.
What if my permit is rejected?
